The HudsonBec Group joins new creative network: Residence
From a one-week project to joining a global group of multidisciplinary companies empowering the creative community.
Today marks a new chapter for The HudsonBec Group.
A journey that started when It’s Nice That launched as a one-week university project back in 2007.
Fast forward fifteen years, and alongside our incredible team we’ve grown four influential creative companies: It’s Nice That, Anyways Creative, Creative Lives in Progress and If You Could Jobs. Every one united by a shared purpose to ‘Enable Creativity to Thrive’.
Earlier this year, we were working steadily towards our 2030 impact goals when an opportunity to join Residence came up — and the prospect was too exciting to ignore.
We’ve always been open to opportunities that we believe can help us supercharge our impact — as long as we continue towards our purpose north star. This was one of those. A rare opportunity to be part of something from the very beginning. Something bigger than us, that is aligned with our mission, values and ambitions for the future.
You can read a little more about Residence here, and we’re honoured that all four of our businesses will sit alongside the great people at BUCK, VTProDesign and Giant Ant as founding members.
In the first instance it’s important to say that all of our businesses will continue as usual.
It’s Nice That will keep championing and inspiring creativity.
Anyways will keep collaborating with the world’s best talent to impact culture.
Creative Lives in Progress will continue on its mission to transform the way emerging talent access, understand and connect with the industry.
If You Could Jobs will continue to be the place to find jobs in the creative industry. Simple.
The real change for us will come in the opportunity we now have for growth and to further our impact in ways we could never achieve on our own.
- We’ll have the chance to reach our 2030 goals more quickly, and add to our impact pillars and the influence we can have on the creative industry as a whole
- We’re surrounded by global, world-class talent and infrastructure, to help guide and support us in taking our companies to the next level.
- The opportunities for our own teams are now bigger than ever; we now have more options for growth and development and enabling the people who work for us to thrive themselves.
- We’ll have the chance to innovate and create without the constraints of our own four walls or means — the creative opportunities we believe this will lead to are huge.
And I’m sure lots of other things we can’t even imagine now.
What’s most important for Will and I though — is that we can do all of this, while staying true to that original purpose, and the values we hold so dear at the group. We’ve met kindred spirits in the founding team at Residence, and cannot wait to get going, working with and learning from some very talented people.
We are of course staying as Co-CEOs to lead all of our businesses and teams through this next chapter.
Finally, we wanted to take this chance to say a huge thank you to so, so many people who have gone above and beyond to help the group get to the start of this new adventure. There are too many to name here all at once, but we hope you know who you are.
To all the incredibly talented people who have worked for us, past or present — especially those who stayed with us through tweaks, changes and evolutions of the group.
Collaborators who have worked with us on projects — we’ve never failed to be inspired by the incredible creative community we’re surrounded by.
Clients who have believed in us, and given us the opportunity to collaborate with them to create amazing projects — without them there would be no business.
Mentors who have given untold amounts of time to offer sage, challenging and candid advice and wisdom through the highs and lows.
Tutors who ignited our passion for this industry and made us believe we could do anything we set our mind to.
Accountants, lawyers, and external suppliers and expertise who have kept things running smoothly.
The team at Residence for believing in us, our team and our businesses and what we can achieve together.
And of course, our families who have shared the journey and reminded us what’s important along the way.
Here’s to an exciting future as part of Residence.
